About Hima Cement Ltd
Hima Cement has been at the heart of Uganda’s construction sector for decades, playing a pivotal role in shaping the country’s infrastructure. Established in 1994 after the privatization of Uganda Cement Industries, Hima Cement Ltd. was eventually acquired by Lafarge in 1999, becoming a subsidiary of the Bamburi Cement Group based in Kenya.
In 2024, Hima Cement embarked on an exciting new chapter as it was acquired by Sarrai Group, a dynamic conglomerate with diverse interests in Sub-Saharan Africa.
