About IMMANUEL AGRO LIMITED

Immanuel Agro Limited (IAL) is a social enterprise company limited by guarantee and committed to supporting Ugandan farmers through the development of structures for enabling rural agricultural productivity. We provide quality seeds, agrochemicals and extension services to farmer groups, to foster good agricultural practice (GAP), fustigation and irrigation. The company was legally incorporated on 25 July 2017 and has quickly grown to become one of the leading fresh fruit and vegetable export companies in Uganda since October 2017. Partners such as Qatar Airways have recognized the company among the 10 leading fresh produce export companies in Uganda.

IAL was incorporated to promote the export of fresh fruits and vegetables from Uganda to Europe, the Middle East and other markets, with an objective of leveraging Uganda’s agricultural potential to provide sustainable business and socio-economic development opportunities to rural communities. IAL is especially inclined toward private-private/private-public partnerships in seeking broad-based solutions that will foster the transformation of Uganda’s grassroot communities. Agriculture, we believe, provides the key to unblocking this potential.

IAL is gaining considerable leverage in fresh produce exports by tapping into the enormous potential provided by smallholder farmers. The company has thus proceeded to form and engage farmer groups, by collectively identifying and addressing the cross-cutting issues affecting productivity.

Our headquarters are located at Plot 838 Eng. Banturaki Close, Balintuma Zone, Kiwatule, Kampala. We grow bitter gourd (karela) on 4 acres in Kasilibiti sub county in Luwero District. We also operate an out-grower scheme in the communities of Lutengo, Kisowera, Buliika and Wabununu in Naama sub county (Mukono District), and Birinzi in Masaka District. The number of farmers benefitting is set to grow, and there is keen focus on increasing the number of women in our out-grower schemes.
