    i. Market/goods
Market at the Busia Border (Uganda side) is mainly trading in cross-border commodities sourced within Uganda.
Traders from Kenya crosses the border to Uganda to buy goods for resell in Kenya side
There are very few commodities sourced from Kenya side, but most of the commodities are acquired from Uganda.
Among the Food produce traded at the border.
    • Cabbages
    • Potatoes
    • Tomatoes
    • Avocados
    • Onions
    • Carrots
    • Cereals (beans, green peas, sorghum, soya beans)


    iii. Processes at the border
    • At the border crossing, there are no restrictions on small traders to access the markets on both sides. No documentations or immigration processes needed.
    • Fee charges at the border is KSHS. 50 per sack by the Uganda authorities and another KSHS. 50 by Kenya authorities.
